The PS - U2M type electric starter is designed to start the diesel engines of the TGM - 4, TGM - 6 series diesel locomotives and their modifications, as well as all modifications of the 6CHN 21/21, 3A-6D49 engines. Designed for short-term operation from the battery.

The main parameters when powered by a 32TN-450 type battery with a voltage of 64V or 6STEN-140M type with a speed of 254 A / h and a voltage of 60V with power wires not exceeding 10 m long and a cross section of 120 sq. m. by copper:

- scrolling moment at a nominal speed of 8, 5 kgf - m

The use is closed, horizontal, designed for fastening to the diesel by means of clamps and fixing from the end.

The direction of rotation is right (clockwise) on the drive side.

The operating mode of the starter ps - y2m is short-term with a duration of up to 6 s. ; a four-time start is allowed with an interval between switching on of at least 10 - 15 s.

A break between four starts for cooling for at least 30 minutes.
